A passport is required for a person re-entering the United States, previously a birth certificate or valid drivers license was sufficient, but this has changed.Anyone flying, this procedure changed Jan 23, 2007 to passport only.
This procedure has changed for anyone driving as of Jan 23, 2008, also requires a passport.
